America Is in the Heart: A Personal History

America Is in the Heart: A Personal History (Washington Paperbacks) - Carlos Bulosan, Carey McWilliams This could have been a classic which is read for ages, but the poor writing and horrendous editing kill a good story. Bulosan's experience is one worth hearing, especially since many of us (e.g. me) are not familiar with the Filipino migration to the U.S. The racism, the economic struggles, the political ambitions are all worth hearing, but you have to work your way through the words to hear it.
